The plumbing behind a great remodel.
Whether it's a primary-bath upgrade in Tradition, a kitchen refresh in St. Lucie West, or a new bathroom in a Palm City addition, we coordinate with your contractor, pull the permits, and make sure the rough-in is done right before the tile goes down. Get us in early, ideally before demolition, so we can flag any constraints while they're still easy to solve.
Florida law requires plumbing work to be done by a licensed contractor. Top Notch holds license CFC1426983. Verify it on the FL DBPR site before work begins.
Bath, kitchen, and additions.
- Bathroom remodels
Relocating toilets and sinks, tub-to-walk-in-shower conversions, curbless showers, soaking tubs, and multi-outlet shower systems, all roughed in to code with proper drains, venting, and valve heights.
- Kitchen remodels
Sink relocations to islands (with proper venting), dishwasher supply and drain, disposals, refrigerator ice-maker lines, and pot fillers roughed in behind the backsplash before tile.
- Additions & new baths
Extending supply, drain, and vent into new construction: sized correctly, tied into the existing system, with slab penetrations set before the pour and hot-water capacity checked.
Permits, inspections & contractors.
Most remodel plumbing in St. Lucie County requires a permit and inspection: moving a toilet, relocating a sink, adding a shower.

Remodel plumbing questions.
Straight answers about remodel plumbing. If yours isn't here, ask us.
(772) 218-2669Do I need a permit for plumbing in a bathroom remodel?
In most cases, yes. St. Lucie County and the City of Port St. Lucie require permits for work that modifies or extends drain, supply, or vent lines (moving a toilet, relocating a sink, adding a shower). Cosmetic swaps of existing fixtures in the same spot usually don't. We pull all required permits and coordinate inspections.
Can you work with my general contractor?
Yes, it's very common. We work as the plumbing subcontractor on projects run by GCs, designers, and custom builders across the Treasure Coast, coordinating rough-in before walls close and final fixtures after finish work. If you're managing the remodel yourself, we'll work directly with you and the other trades.
When should I call a plumber during a remodel?
As early as possible, ideally before demolition. If you're moving fixtures, we'll walk the project first to flag constraints like a stack that can't move or a vent that needs extending. Rough-in (before walls close) is the critical window; we return at the end to set trim, fixtures, and final connections.
Can you replace galvanized pipe during the remodel?
Yes, and a remodel is one of the best times to do it. With walls already open, we can swap visible galvanized supply lines for PEX at the same time, without the added cost of opening walls just for repiping. If the whole system is galvanized, we can discuss a full repipe.
